JESSE BINGER has been crafting stories for as long as he can remember—but The Penitent Hours, a literary crime noir, marks his first step into publishing.  A New York native and lifelong storyteller, Jesse earned his English degree before spending over two decades leading teams in the tech and business world.  He currently serves as Associate Director at a major hospital system in the New York metro area.

Jesse grew up addicted to old detective novels and noir, salivating over the many paperbacks of authors like Block, MacDonald and Leonard.  His film tastes usually landed in the 70s glory days of moviemaking and Jesse devoured the canon of Scorsese, Coppola, Lynch and many others.

 

In addition to fiction, Jesse has written, directed, produced and edited a number of independent short films, with work screening at festivals around the world including the prestigious Soho International Film Festival.  One of his un-produced screenplays Swipe Right was a finalist for Best Screenplay at the DC Shorts Film Festival.

 

Jesse recently signed with a literary agent - Tommy Dean from Rosecliff Literary—and is preparing The Penitent Hours for submission later in 2025.

 

He lives in Central New Jersey with his lovely wife Sharon and their precious Cavalier King Charles spaniel Ruby.  His son Derek is currently in law school in NYC.  When he’s not writing, he’s likely reading crime fiction, watching character-driven films, or wondering how many cups of coffee is too many (Easy answer:  Infinite amounts).
